Ep. 7: Game Within the Game
It’s time once again for a Survivor 41, “Game Within the Game” post. For the 7th episode we have the most challenging Rebus Puzzle yet and another strategy test to ponder. Remember, here at Tribal Council Blog I’m trying to have some fun with all things Survivor and Amazing Race, so the GWtG is no exception. Have fun with it!

Have to be honest here. Struggled to pin this one down. I got stuck on the button and the ball thinking it was maybe an orb instead of a ball. For figuring this one out I had to pump answers in that didn’t make sense to finally come around to the correct answer. Recommendation to future Survivor players, saying pieces of the Rebus out loud helps. Hearing each clue out loud helped me make the connections in my brain. Definitely the toughest GWtG puzzle yet.

Moving on from the Rebus puzzle. Next up in the GWtG is the WORD SCRAMBLE.

Solving the word scramble was easy, SEA, but the riddle is proving to be a worthy adversary. I still can’t tell if I’m on to something or completely lost. Probably the latter. Anyway, let’s think out loud about this with the now 7 pieces of the riddle.
I fold for this week. I still feel like there will be a word in the next 3-4 weeks that will really “give it away” to most adults and superfans following the GWtG closely, but right now I feel like I’m off the scent.
Now to the good stuff…
EPISODE 7 - STRATEGY TEST
Another strategy test that I feel pretty good about my approach.
“Is there ever a situation in which you would give up your individual shot at immunity to benefit the tribe, to get some sort of an advantage?” - Jeff Probst
There definitely are times in which I would give up my chance at individual immunity. The reality is, despite my great charm, charisma, and respectable athletic ability, there are Individual Immunity Challenges that would be a disaster for me. The hanging on the pole challenge comes to mind. Even though every individual challenge is designed to not favor any one gender, challenges like the pole hang favor those who are a little stronger with their own body weight. Not my strength.
In times like these I think it’s important to see the challenge, make a decision about whether I would be or would not be successful and keep moving forward. The pole hang, holding your hand above your head connected to the bucket of water and other challenges like that are probably not going to see an Immunity Necklace come my way, so what is best for me is to opt out and try to gain an advantage for my alliance, but in actuality, it would be for myself and my self preservation.
