Ep. 6: Game Within the Game
It’s time again for another blog post about the new feature of Survivor 41, “Game Within the Game”. For the 6th go around we have a HUGE STRATEGY TEST that you have to be brain dead to not think about in anticipation for next week’s episode. Remember, here at Tribal Council Blog I’m trying to have some fun with all things Survivor and Amazing Race, so the GWtG is no exception. Have fun with it!

Moving on from the Rebus puzzle. Next up in the GWtG is the WORD SCRAMBLE.

Solving the word scramble was easy, TENT. However, figuring out the riddle is proving to be quite a task. I can’t tell if I’m on to something or completely lost. Probably the latter. Anyway, let’s think out loud about this with the now 6 pieces of the riddle.

TENT
TENT has me thinking about shelter or building shelter. I understand that all of these words are meant for young future Survivors and that it may only be exactly that, just the words. I hope not. Having said that I have no idea where this going if the riddle involves all these words to create a larger puzzle. I still feel like there will be a word in the next 3-4 weeks that will really “give it away” to most adults and superfans following the GWtG closely, but right now I feel like I’m off the scent.
Now to the good stuff…
EPISODE 6 - STRATEGY TEST
Reminder. This strategy test is designed to give the viewers (especially young fans or budding strategists) a situation directly connected to the next episode for you to ponder and then make a theoretical decision on heading into episode 7.
What is most valuable about this feature of GWtG is directly asking you “What you would do?” Even if people have watched the show for 20 years and thought about how they would act in a situation, the strategy test provides a new experience because we have this information before it happens. Now, we know what is coming, we get to see who is put in the situation, and most fun of all, how they respond.
Here’s this week’s strategy test question:
“You know what decision Erika has to make…Would you go back and change history and take away the win from the people who earned it, thus risking that they’re going to hate you for the rest of the game and try to get you out? Ok, no major dramatics this week. Straight to the answer. YOU SMASH THE HOUR GLASS!
Reasons why you HAVE TO smash the hour glass and reverse time in the game…
Immunity
If Erika smashes the hour glass then she reverses what happened at the merge challenge and gives herself Immunity.
Sent to Exile
The winning team sent her to Exile to live alone for 2 days, she can send their asses to Tribal Council for one night.
Opportunity
Erika has a chance to make a mark on the game and the history of Survivor. When given opportunities like this in Survivor and life, you have to take it. If she doesn’t I guarantee she’ll regret it.
Owes it to Survivor
I don’t know if it’s the biggest twist in the history of Survivor but it’s up there. So, if you apply for the show, go through the process, get on the show, make it through the first vote, make it through the first phase, and are presented with this type of opportunity, you take it. Otherwise, you should have never applied to begin with.
