Survivor 41: Storylines FIRST ROUND!
The tribe has spoken and our first round is in the books! We are down to our FINAL FOUR STORYLINES!
Reminder, these were the 8 most intriguing storylines in anticipation ofSurvivor 41 this fall, that I could come up with. Each of the 8 storylines were seeded and the matchups would play out via social media polls. It took some trial and error, some help from YouTube, and some finagling to be able to figure out how to create some dazzling polls for the voting on Instagram. But, in the end, the first round results are in.
I’ll go tally the votes…
Let’s take a look at how they advanced to the final four.
TONY REGION MATCHUPS
(1) Survivor Drought def. (8) 21st Anniversary
Not much of a surprise here. The 420 days and counting drought of Survivor being in our lives is quite a storyline to contend with. Now, like we said in the tournament’s opening article, Probst taking to Twitter for a moment of reflection on 21 years of Survivor is noteworthy and worth stepping away from the game to record and share with the Survivor faithful. However, the absence of the game held too much power and the tribe has spoken. (1) Survivor Drought moves on.
(4) 50% DIVERSITY def. (5) NO TITLE
The (4) vs. (5) matchup in any seeded tournament bracket is going to be an even matched slugfest, and our (4) 50% DIVERSITY vs. (5) NO TITLE was no exception to this rule. In the end, Survivor’s commitment to having a a 50% non-white cast eeked out a narrow victory over the 41st season having no title or theme and simply being titled Survivor 41. (4) 50% Diversity getting past the first round makes me feel it has a chance to win the TONY region and make the final 2, especially with the upsets coming out of the SANDRA region.
Speaking of the SANDRA REGION
(6) 41 LOGO def. (3) 26 DAYS FORMAT
The SANDRA region, in typical Survivor fashion, was full of good ole fashioned blindsides! The first was the #6 seed Survivor 41 Logo taking down the #3 seeded new 26 day Survivor format. Was I surprised by this result? Not really. Every Survivor fan loves the logo. After 420+ days of no new logo, perhaps the fans were ready and feening for the reassurance of 41 coming that the release of the logo represents.
(7) PROBST’S LONG HAIR def. (2) WINNERS AT WAR FOLLOW UP
UPSET ALERT!!! The #2 seeded storyline (2) WINNERS AT WAR FOLLOW UP was primed to make a run at completely swallowing any momentum heading into Survivor 41, but Jeff Probst’s new pandemic hairstyle made a “BIG MOVE” and officially sent Winners at War to Ponderosa. I guess this blindside proves Winners at War is not as in control of the SANDRA REGION as it thought.

That’s it. The final four is set. Now the power of this game turns back over to the jury (social media polls) to determine which storylines heading into season 41 are worthy of moving on to the FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL.
