Survivor 41: Storylines FINAL FOUR!
The tribe has spoken on the Final Four and we are down to our FINAL TWO STORYLINES!
We started at the 8 most intriguing storylines in anticipation of Survivor 41 this fall, and narrowed it down to four. In the TONY region we had “chalk” with (1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT and (4) 50% DIVERSITY advancing, but the blindsides were a plenty in the SANDRA region. Upsets staged by (6) 41’s LOGO and (7) PROBST’S LONG HAIR rounded out an exciting final four storylines lineup. Only one thing left to do.
I’ll go tally the votes…
TONY REGION FINAL
(1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT vs. (4) 50% DIVERSITY
(1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT def. (4) 50% DIVERSITY
Iin a narrow victory, the number one overall seed wins the TONY region of the bracket and moves onto the final two in defeating the number four seed, 50% Diversity. This was a close one for sure which tells me that tribe has spoken and the commitment to inclusivity from CBS and Survivor matters to people. As it should. Having said that, not having the show gets the W and guarantees itself a spot at the final two and a chance to plead its case for the title of SOLE STORYLINE heading into Survivor 41!
Who will (1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT sit next to at the final two?
SANDRA REGION FINAL

In similar fashion, (7) PROBST’S LONG HAIR receives enough votes to win the SANDRA region of the bracket and guarantee its shot at the final two for the title of SOLE STORYLINE heading into Survivor 41. The 41 LOGO had some momentum coming into the final four because everyone loves a new Survivor season logo. It just gets the juices flowing by cementing the next chapter of the show is happening. However, in the case of this matchup the true face of Survivor did just enough to secure the votes and take its seat next to (1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT in the final.
Our FINAL TWO is set! It’s (1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT taking on (7) PROBST’S LONG HAIR for the title of SOLE STORYLINE heading into Survivor 41 this fall. Its the franchise against its number one/day one star’s new look.
SPORTS COMPARISON
This matchup seems all too fitting. Perhaps the new hair look for Probst was seeded too low, but nonetheless, this championship matchup is a great one. In the opening blog previewing the 8 seeds and the tournament I made some comparisons of the 8 storylines to a sports related player, team, concept etc. (1) SURVIVOR DROUGHT was compared to the New England Patriots, and for good reason. For 20 years and 40 seasons we saw sustained excellence from Survivor, yes some seasons were better than others, but overall the show had become a premier television franchise. The consistent quality standards and success of Survivor the past 20 years was also the same for the Patriots. From 2000 on they have become the team at the top of the NFL. 6 Super Bowl victories, consistent presence in big games, the spotlight, the playoffs, and being circled on everyone’s schedule has made them a top level franchise in all of sports.
The rise of the Patriots couldn’t have happened without Owner Robert Kraft, Head Coach Bill Belichick, and Quarterback Tom Brady being with the organization along the way. In this analogy of the Patriots to Survivor, I think that makes CBS Robert Kraft, Producer Mark Burnett - Coach Belichick, and Host Jeff Probst - Tom Brady.

Fast forward to today, Tom Brady has moved on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers donning a new look after 20 years with New England. Just like Survivor’s Tom Brady, Jeff Probst has a new look for 2021! Perfect. The stage can be set. It’s the organization versus its most important player. It’s not having Survivor the show against the host of the show having a new look.
